Popular Nollywood actor, Azubuike Michael, popularly known as Zubby Michael, has joined partisan politics.
Consequently, Zubby has pitched his tent with the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in his native Anambra State, saying it was time to end armchair criticism online and be actively involved.
The actor officially registered with the party on Saturday in Ozubulu Ward , Anambra State, where he hails from. He confirmed his membership of the party in a video shared on his Instagram page, showing the moment he received his party membership card from his ward chairman.
“I dey my village, enough of the talking online, I don involve,” he wrote.
Although a voice in the background of the video hinted about possible political ambitions, including a potential bid for the House of Representatives seat, the actor was yet to publicly declare any intention to contest elective office.
Zubby Michael’s move underscored a growing trend of Nollywood personalities transitioning into active politics, as the build-up to the 2027 general election gathers momentum.
His entry also comes amid a surge in new memberships for the ADC, which is positioning itself as a formidable opposition platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 polls.
