Amodu, who is also gaining attention for his trending hit single “Faanu Yanju e”, made the announcement in a statement released through his outfit, Irenitemi International.

He revealed that Ago Alago will have its exclusive premiere on his YouTube channel, IRENITEMITV.

The movie features a strong lineup of Nollywood actors, including Ayo Olaiya, Aisha Raji, Aunty Ajara, Don Richard, Prince Akande Roland, and Kehinde Asekunlowo. Shedding light on the film’s themes, Amodu explained that Ago Alago delves into the complexities of contentment, self-identity, and the dangers of envy and imitation.

According to him, the film is intended to serve as a moral compass in a world increasingly influenced by social comparison and materialism.

“It teaches the importance of being satisfied with what you have at your level,” he stated. “It warns against copying other people’s lifestyles—especially when done dishonestly, just because they appear successful. It’s a story that promotes integrity and encourages people to remain true to their journey.”

Ago Alago is set against the backdrop of a modern-day Yoruba society, but Amodu noted it draws deeply from traditional values, religious ethics, and time-honoured cultural teachings.

“The storyline blends contemporary settings with moral lessons handed down through generations. It mirrors our society while urging us to reflect on our values,” he explained.

He dedicated the work to God and his parents, Pastor Samson Amodu and Deaconess Esther Amodu, crediting them for instilling in him the virtues of contentment and devotion to faith.

“I owe much of who I am to my parents. They taught me to live with contentment and honour God in all things,” he said.

Movie critic Opeyemi Joshua weighed in, saying, “With its June 7 release date fast approaching, expectations are high that Ago Alago will resonate deeply with audiences both in Nigeria and across the diaspora, especially those who appreciate stories that blend tradition with contemporary realities.”
