A Northern group under the aegis of Northern Consensus Movement of Nigeria (NCM) has cautioned security operatives against unlawful killings.
The president of the NCM, Dr Auwal Abdullahi Aliyu, who made the call yesterday while addressing a press conference in Kaduna said there is need for the military to tread with caution in order to ensure that innocent victims were not punished for the offence of criminals.
According to him, some Fulani youths were attacked and killed in Tilde Fulbe in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State by suspected members of security agencies.
Aliyu, also noted that their people lost their lives and property in the recent incident in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State.
The NCM president opined that while his group is not faulting the credibility of Nigerian security agencies, report received from locals in affected areas shows that some bad eggs are not acting professionally, adding that this may affect the good work of the security agencies.
According to him, Fulani people are law abiding Nigerians and the actions of a few criminals should not be used to profile the entire Fulani as culprits.
The NCM president therefore called on the leadership of the military, especially the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who according to him is also a respected son of Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State to use his office to ensure that high professionalism that the Nigeria military is known for is displayed in all operations.
