The Northern Awareness Network (NAN), has condemned the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for his unwarranted confrontation against Governor of Abia State Alex Otti ahead of the 2027 election in the state.

NAN’s national coordinator Salihu Suleiman said Kalu’s action threatens to create discord within a region that desperately seeks unity and also undermines efforts of the Abia State government to revitalise various sectors of the state.

The group averred that, as a representative of the people, Kalu must recognise that his actions carry significant repercussions for the constituents he serves and urged him to reconsider his approach and to prioritise the responsibilities that come with his legislative role.

It added that the people of Abia State deserve representation grounded in constructive dialogue and cooperation, not in divisive rhetoric and unnecessary grandstanding.
