Northern Writers Forum To Host Abubakar Auwal

The Northern Writers Forum (NWF) will host a virtual book reading featuring author Abubakar Lawal on February 28.

Lawal will read excerpts from latest work, titled ‘Portrait of Broken Metaphors’, followed by a critical discussion examining contemporary writing, artistic expression, and the underlying themes of the book.

“The event is conceptualized as a reflective literary experience,” said NWF.

Auwal is the winner of the 2024 Arting Arena Poetry Chapbook Contest for his poetry collection ‘Portraits of Broken Metaphors’; a runner-up in the Nigeria Prize for Teen Authors (2024) for his work ‘Portraits of Gods As Metaphors’, and winner of the 2023 Splendors of Dawn Poetry and Short Story Competition. He serves as the Editor-in-Chief for New Voices Magazine.
