The Kano State Government has announced financial incentives for players and officials of Kano Pillars ahead of their crucial final-day fixture in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The announcement was made in Kano by the State Adviser on Youth Affairs and Sports, Sani Musa Danja, as the club intensifies preparations for the Matchday 38 clash against Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday.
The encounter is expected to be a tense battle, with Kano Pillars needing at least a draw to secure their place in the top flight for another season.
Sai Masu Gida currently occupy 10th position on the league table with 48 points, while Plateau United sit just behind in 12th place with 47 points, making the fixture crucial for both sides.
Bayelsa United and Wikki Tourists have already been relegated, while two more clubs are still battling to avoid dropping into the Nigeria National League.
Officials believe the cash incentives will motivate the players to deliver a strong performance in Jos and end the campaign on a positive note.
Kano Pillars, one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, are eager to avoid relegation trouble and maintain their status among the country’s elite teams as the season reaches its dramatic conclusion.
