Kwara United are set to face Abia Warriors in their Matchday 27 fixture on Sunday without two key players, Bright Babatunde and Alao Mohammed, both of whom are currently sidelined with injuries.
This double blow comes at a challenging time for the “Harmony Boys,” who have struggled to find consistent form in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.
Babatunde and Mohammed were instrumental figures in Kwara United’s successful President Federation Cup campaign last season, where their contributions were vital in securing the trophy. Their absence will undoubtedly be felt as the club looks to improve its league position.
However, there is some positive news for Kwara United, as defender Mustapha Salisu is available for selection once again. Salisu returns to the squad after serving a mandatory one-match suspension following a red card.
Kwara United will travel to the Umuahia Township Stadium this Sunday to take on Abia Warriors. The Harmony Boys currently sit in 16th position in the league table with 29 points, while their opponents, Abia Warriors, are enjoying a stronger season, occupying fifth place with 40 points.
