The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has postponed the Matchday 34 fixture between El-Kanemi Warriors and Nasarawa United.
Originally scheduled for Sunday, 12 April 2026, the encounter will now be played on Tuesday, 14 April 2026. The league body confirmed that the adjustment was necessitated by “flight schedule complications”, an issue that continues to affect team logistics across the country.
Despite the change in date, the venue remains the El-Kanemi Sports Centre in Maiduguri, where the hosts will be under intense pressure to revive their faltering campaign.
El-Kanemi Warriors head into the fixture in worrying form, having gone six matches without a win. Sitting just three points above the relegation zone, they face a growing threat of slipping into the lower division. The rescheduled tie now presents a crucial opportunity to halt their decline and create breathing space from the drop zone.
For Nasarawa United, the clash offers a chance for redemption. The Solid Miners are eager to bounce back after a disappointing home defeat to Kun Khalifat FC last weekend, a result that dented their momentum.
With ambitions of climbing further up the table, Nasarawa United will be targeting maximum points against a low-confidence El-Kanemi side, aiming to capitalise on their opponents’ defensive frailties.
Tuesday’s encounter in Maiduguri is therefore poised to carry significant implications at both ends of the NPFL table.
