NSCDC Arrests 11 Suspected Phone Snatchers In Kano

Operatives of the Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have arrested 11 persons suspected to be phone snatchers and drug peddlers in the state.

Spokesperson of the Command, Ibrahim Abdullahi, told Journalists that the suspects were arrested during midnight patrol by the joint operatives of security agencies attached to Kano State government taskforce combating phone snatching and illicit drugs.

 

Abdullahi said the suspects were nabbed around Sabon Gari, Fagge, Kantin Kwari Market and Kofar Mata with dangerous weapons and some illicit drugs.

 

According to him, the suspects are believed to have been terrorising the areas by snatching phones from innocent residents, vandalism, drugs peddling and theft.

Items recovered from the suspects include a sword, knife, scissors, ‘suck and die’ (sukudayen), gum solution, among others.

He however pointed out that the Command’s intelligence and investigation department have concluded all the necessary investigation and the suspects have since been charged to court.
