The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,160 personnel across the state to ensure peace, safety, and the protection of critical national infrastructure during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The deployment was announced by the State Commandant, Aminu Ahmad, during an operational briefing at the NSCDC Headquarters in Katsina on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Commandant General, Abubakar Audi, to strengthening security measures and safeguarding key assets across the country.

Ahmad highlighted several reviewed security strategies, including enhanced surveillance, intelligence gathering, community engagement, and collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

Security personnel were stationed at key locations, including the Emir’s Palace Kofar Soro in Katsina, Kangiwa in Daura Emirate, central mosques in Katsina and Daura, and various Eid prayer grounds across the state.

Additionally, officers have been detailed to oversee the Hawan Bariki processions in both Katsina and Daura Emirates.

Beyond the urban centres, both covert and overt security personnel have been deployed in all 34 local government areas to ensure the safety of government facilities and public spaces.

The Commandant has also directed all Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Unit Commanders, OC Outposts, and Special Forces to conduct thorough patrols and maintain a high level of coordination.

He urged all deployed personnel to uphold professionalism and work in synergy with other security agencies.

“All officers must remain professional and committed to their duties to ensure a peaceful and secure Sallah celebration,” he stated.

He called on residents of Katsina to remain law-abiding, stay vigilant, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security office.
