Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has received commendations from the national coordinator of SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, for its outstanding performance in the implementation of the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS).
Akajemeli, who visited the NSITF Headquarters in Abuja, applauded the current management of the fund for the concrete measures it has taken to re-position the agency in the last one year.
She said the NSITF has been entrenching quality service delivery as a cardinal element in the execution of the ECS, which provides compensation and rehabilitation to workers who suffer occupational injuries or diseases.
According to a statement issued by the agency’s general-manager, corporate affairs, Nwachukwu Godson, the SERVICOM boss also called for adequate training and equipping of SERVICOM staff in the NSITF, saying they are the foot soldiers and the eyes of the management in all aspects of customer service.
Akajemeli further commended the NSITF for winning the 2024 NECA Award on best service delivery , saying it was a testament to the Fund’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
The managing-director of the NSITF, Maureen Allagoa, who received the SERVICOM delegation, said the fund prioritises effective service delivery and customer satisfaction in its efforts to expand the frontiers of the ECS.
Allagoa said the agency has seventy functional SERVICOM desks across its regional and branch offices, and has fulfilled almost 100 percent of its customer service charter.
The MD also disclosed that the NSITF is working to improve its processes with its ongoing digitalisation and automation project, E-NSITF, and the Employer Self Service Portal (ESSP), which will enable its customers to apply for its services from the comforts of their homes or offices using their mobile devices.
She added that as part of the fund’s 2024 strategic direction, plans have been concluded for the creation of new branches and service centres to bring services closer to the customers.
