Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) and the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Africa have been praised for their outstanding organisation of five back-to-back table tennis events in Lagos, Nigeria.
The events, which took place from 16th July to 5th August, included the West Africa Regional Championships, Africa Hopes Week & Challenge, WTT Contender Lagos 2025, ITTF African Youth Championships, and the ITTF-African Youth Cup.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to Wahid Oshodi, President of ITTF Africa/Africa Table Tennis Federation, and Engr. Ishaku Tikon, President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, the ITTF expressed its appreciation for the commitment and dedication shown by the NTTF and ITTF Africa in hosting these events. The federation noted that the events not only showcased the best of African table tennis but also provided invaluable opportunities for athletes to develop their sporting careers.
The ITTF also commended the NTTF for unveiling its Virtual Table Tennis Esports initiative, which aligns with the ITTF’s vision in esports. The successful hosting of these events has cemented Lagos as a key hub for table tennis on the global stage, just 15 months ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
