The National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Bauchi chapter, has assured local government workers that the state government would soon commence payment of leave grants.
Similarly, NULGE affirmed that the N10,000 wage award approved for its members for Eid-el-Fitr would be paid to them without anyone being shortchanged.

Chairman of NULGE, Bauchi State, Comrade Muhammad Yunusa said this in an interview with journalists in Dass.
He said the union had secured the assurances of Governor Bala Mohammed towards payment of their leave grants to local government employees to improve their welfare and wellbeing.

“We have the best assurance of the state government that the issue of unpaid leave grants will be settled soon,” the president affirmed.

Comrade Yunusa also called on all NULGE members in Bauchi to continue being law-abiding and continue discharging their roles and responsibilities to support the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

LEADERSHIP Weekend recalls that in March this year, the Bauchi State government released about N680 million to the office of the state Head of Civil Service for the payment owed leave grants workers at the state level. The amount released was part of the N5 billion fuel subsidy palliative and loan that the Federal Government doled out to states.
