Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has described the Asagba of Asaba, His Majesty, Prof Obi Joseph Chike Edozien, “as an Igbo trailblazer, who led the Asaba people with unassailable exemplariness, courage, moral rectitude and tenacity.”
The body urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu, to immortalise Prof Chike Edozien, as a veritable source of inspiration to the younger generation.
A statement by the national publicity secretary, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, described the monarch as a reflective intellectual giant, purveyor of superior morals, exemplary royalty, outstanding dogged achiever, harmoniser of diverse interests and a quintessential Igbo.
Mourning the late monarch who passed on at 99, he said that “in spite of all the splendours of aristocracy and the magnificence of monarchy at his disposal, the Asagba carried himself with the profoundest of openness and sincerity.”
