National president of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, Igboayaka Igboayaka, has urged Igbo youths to prepare for leadership and contribute their quota to the growth and development of Igbo land.
Igboayaka stated this at the inauguration of the newly elected executive committee of the Abia State chapter of the council and the 2025 convention of the group in Umuahia, the state capital.
He charged members of the committee with mobilising progressive-minded Igbo youths across the state for the task in line with the vision and aspirations of past Igbo patriotic leaders.
The Igbo youth leader said they must not betray the confidence reposed in them.
In their remarks, the council national publicity secretary, Authority Ukpabi and the convention committee secretary, Lucky Uzochi, described the election as hitch-free, fair, and credible.
In a response on behalf of others, the newly elected chairman, Eugene Okonta, who dedicated their victory to God and the chapter, pointed out that they will deliver on their mandate.
Okonta also lauded his closest rival in the contest, Igwe Osoagwu, for exhibiting the spirit of sportsmanship and assured him that he would be involved in the chapter’s affairs.
