Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold economic reforms, visionary policies, and developmental programmes, which he said are reshaping governance and national development.

Governor Okpebholo made this known in Benin City on during the City Boy Movement empowerment programme, which supported over 200 Edo youths.

The governor noted that federal government support to states has provided resources for meaningful developmental projects, referencing ongoing construction of flyover bridges and other infrastructural works in Edo State.

“These projects are made possible through the support of President Tinubu. I urge all Edo people to continue supporting the President, whose reforms, though tough, are essential for Nigeria’s progress,” Governor Okpebholo stated.

He assured that his administration is delivering genuine progress and development to the three senatorial districts of the state.

In his remarks, the Director-General of City Boy Movement, Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, commended Governor Okpebholo for his visionary and silent leadership style, noting significant progress in education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure.

Shoga praised President Tinubu’s ongoing economic reforms, describing them as bold steps toward national restructuring and sustainable growth.

“The City Boy Movement is the largest socio-political youth platform in Africa, mobilizing 10 million votes for President Tinubu in 2027 from all 36 states of the federation,” Shoga affirmed.

He also commended the movement’s Grand Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, whose vision and guidance have been invaluable to youth empowerment and the Renewed Hope agenda.

Shoga outlined the movement’s four core objectives: supporting President Tinubu in delivering his Renewed Hope Agenda, advocating for his impactful policies and programmes, mobilizing support for his re-election, and promoting meaningful youth engagement in governance.

“Fellow youths, we are not leaders of tomorrow—we are leaders of today. Our voices matter; our participation is crucial,” Shoga stated.

He equally praised Iyamu for his strong dedication and commitment in making the Edo programme one of the historic events in the history of City Boy Movement.

Also speaking, Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, emphasized that youths remain at the center of both national and state agendas, noting President Tinubu’s trust in the nation’s young population.

“Nigeria’s youths are its greatest asset. Through various platforms and skill development programmes, this administration ensures young people are empowered to build better futures for themselves and the nation,” the minister said.

In his goodwill message, Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, called on Edo youths to mobilize under the City Boy Movement to ensure President Tinubu secures the highest number of votes in the South-South region in the next election.

“Edo State belongs to President Tinubu because he is a reliable and decisive leader. With the governor’s performance, opposition in Edo State will soon become history. I call on our youths to stand firm, support this movement, and ensure Edo delivers the highest votes for the President,” Idahosa stated.

Earlier, Edo State Commissioner for Education and State Director of City Boy Movement, Paddy Iyamu, praised President Tinubu for introducing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which he said has ensured that no Edo child is forced out of school due to financial constraints.

He highlighted achievements of Governor Okpebholo’s administration within one year, including construction of 68 new schools across the state, sponsorship of five Edo students to study in China for three years, provision of N1 billion in student bursaries, empowerment programmes for market women, and support for small businesses.

The event brought together Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu; distinguished APC leaders, members of the Edo State Executive Council, and City Boy Movement members from across the state.
