Olu Of Warri To Speak At Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium

The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, is expected to serve as a guest speaker at the second edition of the Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium scheduled to hold in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The colloquium, which will take place at the Bintumani Conference Centre, is expected to attract political leaders, policymakers and young professionals from across Africa under the theme: “Reimagining African Leadership: Courage, Accountability and Innovation in an Era of Global Uncertainty.”

President Julius Maada Bio is billed as the Special Guest of Honour and is expected to lead discussions on governance, leadership and regional cooperation.

Organisers said the event, which will also feature the African Young Leaders Convergence, aims to promote conversations around transformational leadership and sustainable development on the continent.

Other personalities expected at the gathering include former Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland, and former Malawian President, Joyce Banda.

The participation of the Olu of Warri comes weeks after his appearance at the 2026 African Development Conference hosted by the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Law School in the United States, where discussions focused on Africa’s development and leadership challenges.

The colloquium is also expected to provide opportunities for policy engagement, networking and partnerships among emerging African leaders and international stakeholders.
