In a bid to achieve its major objective of discovering promising talents and develop sports at the grassroots, the South-west Zone of Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, is organising a 2-day national football coaching clinic part 2 tagged “Modern Tactical Approach in Football”.
The seminar which will be anchored by High Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, will hold from June 29 to June 30, 2017 at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
The part one of the clinic which was held between 25th and 26thof May recorded an impressive turnout of coaches in the zone, aimed at equipping football coaches in the zone to be conversant with the new FIFA rules and regulations, promoting and creating friendly environment among players, referees, officials and even spectators before, during and after the game.
Speaking on the 2-day clinic, the zonal coordinator, the Southwest Zone of Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Yemi Usikaye, enjoined the coaches to attend the all-important seminar, stressing that football is changing everyday with the introduction of modern rules and technical laws.
Usikaye emphasized that politics in sports with particular references to football administration in the country calls for attention and integration of coaches in order to be relevant and be in tune with the Game.
The zonal coordinator called on coaches in the states and in the zone who participated at the last seminar and those who want to attend newly to avail themselves of the rare opportunity while assuring that certificates will be awarded to participants at the end of the seminar.
