Onscreen Kissing Is A Job, Not For Pleasure — Actress Soso

Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, widely known as Soso, has said that actors should see onscreen kissing strictly as a professional job rather than a way to get pleasure.

The actress shared her views during an interview with TVC. She was responding to recent complaints from some actors who claimed they had never enjoyed a good kiss while filming movies.

Soso stated that it would be impossible for any male actor to get pleasure from kissing her on set because she does not use her tongue during romantic scenes.

She noted that she keeps her mouth closed and only uses her lips to avoid sharing saliva with her co-stars.

“I don’t know if people kiss with their tongues, but I do not kiss with my tongue. My teeth are always closed during kissing scenes, so it is just the lips. But because it is an act, we have to make it believable,” Soso stated.

She added that sharing saliva with different actors is unnecessary, stressing that a movie scene is just a job. She found it strange that colleagues were complaining about not getting a good kiss on set, repeating that the act is not supposed to be enjoyable.

Her comments come after a few Nollywood actors, including her frequent co-star Saga Adeolu, publicly mentioned that onscreen kisses are rarely enjoyable and that they have yet to experience a good one in their careers.
