Nigeria striker Paul Onuachu has added another individual honour to an outstanding campaign after winning the Turkish Süper Lig Goal of the Season award.
The Trabzonspor forward earned the accolade for his spectacular scissor-kick strike in his club’s thrilling 4-2 victory over Fatih Karagümrük last September.
The stunning finish quickly became one of the most talked-about goals of the Turkish season and has now received official recognition.
Onuachu enjoyed a remarkable debut season with Trabzonspor following his move from Championship club Southampton last summer.
The towering forward established himself as one of the league’s most feared attackers, combining aerial dominance with clinical finishing.
His outstanding form saw him finish as joint-top scorer in the 2025/26 Turkish Süper Lig with 22 goals, sharing the Golden Boot with İstanbul Başakşehir striker Eldor Shomurodov.
The feat placed Onuachu among Trabzonspor’s elite scorers, making him only the sixth player in the club’s history to finish a season as the league’s top marksman.
Across all competitions, the Nigeria international registered an impressive 26 goals and two assists in 43 appearances for the Claret and Blue.
His goals proved pivotal to Trabzonspor’s campaign and further enhanced his reputation as one of the most prolific forwards currently playing in Turkish football.
Winning the Goal of the Season award now caps a memorable individual year for Onuachu, whose impact in Turkey continues to attract admiration from supporters and football analysts alike.
