The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Saturday, crowned 20 traditional rulers at the Palace of Oodua in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
A statement made available to journalists by the Director, Media and Public Affairs, Oodua Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare named the monarchs as Oba Adegoke Owojori, Obajio of Moore; Oba Olatunde, Owole Erinle, Olu of Erinle; Oba Kehinde Adeyinka Adetoro of Awoyaya; Oba Adegbaju Azeez, Olu of Ifeparapo; Oba Adedunni Gbadegesin, Olu of Onida; and Oba Gbade Agboola, Olu of Irewole.
Others include Oba Adebamiji Adeniyi Habedeen, Olu of Onimon; Oba Abdul Wasiu Hassan, Olu of Alaseyori; Oba (Dr.) Gbadegesin Elubode, the Olu of Obagibile; Oba Oladipo Olayinka Fasesin, Olu of Famia; Oba Akinola John Adebayo Fadoyin, Olu of Kajola Obalara; Oba Akeem Ogungbade, Olu of Elefon-Obagibile Olofin; and Oba Awojobi Lateef Olawale, Loja of Oke-Owena.
The list also include Oba Mayowa Awosope, Olu of Ayedire; Oba Fatai Abass Adeyini, Olu of Aye-Arode; Oba Bolanle Azeez Odebola, Olu of Asarogun; Oba Olufemi Olajide Omidirepo, Olu-Oke of Oke-Ora Iranje; Oba Gbenga Adewole Ogunleye, Olu of Abeji; Oba Adegoke Olafare Arilewola, Olu of Idu Ladare and Oba Afeez Iyiola Akinyele, Olu of Erinje.
Olafare said all the royal fathers are of Ife Kingdom.
While addressing the gathering, Oba Ogunwusi charged the new Obas to see their crowns as symbols of responsibility and service to their people, rather than an avenue for personal gain.
He urged them to uphold peace, promote unity, and work together to foster development across their respective domains.
Also speaking, the Lowa Adimula of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Adekola Adesiyan advised the newly crowned monarchs to rule with wisdom, humility, and fairness, stressing that their emergence was a call to service and not a contest for supremacy.
For his part, the Obalufe of Ile-Ife, Oba Idowu Olaniyi Adediwura urged the new monarchs to maintain loyalty to the source, Ile-Ife, while contributing to the cultural and socioeconomic progress of their communities.
