According to him, technology which the event largely promoted, has helped to reduce unemployment, strengthen educational standard and as well remains a source of civilisation in Nigeria.

Earlier at the opening ceremony of the exhibition on Tuesday at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Taneja said, “The idea behind this event is that energy consumption and saving is getting higher these days in Nigeria. We came from India to realise technology is the way forward in this country and I can assure you there’s a lot of investment coming soon to do this business.

“Our aim is to digitalise Nigeria and Africa as a whole. In the coming edition in 2024, our theme will be tagged: ‘Digital energy in Africa’ and this will help compliment what we’re talking about.”

The event which hosted 70 firms which displayed goods and services before guests and admires also highlighted the importance of transmission and distribution, power generation, hydro power, water treatment, energy management and renewable energy.

“Technology is not only limited to energy. We’ve seen so many in healthcare. Even doctors and surgeons educate themselves through smart phones. We now have many teaching classes here online which has really improved the skill. Technology improves educational quality in this aspect.

“As for employment, a lot of technology companies here in Nigeria, have helped the youths define their career path and job opportunities. Nigeria Communication Commission has also tried in this aspect by luring the youth to ICT and it has helped civilise the youths. What we’re doing here today is not hidden, we’ve informed all the top ministries and we also created a platform for the youths to see what seventy firms presented here are bringing forward,” he said.
