Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is biased against him and would push him out of the Red Chamber if given the opportunity.

Oshiomhole made the remarks during an appearance on Mic On Podcast hosted by journalist Seun Okinbaloye, where he spoke about his relationship with the Senate leadership and developments within the National Assembly.

According to him, Akpabio had become uncomfortable with his presence and influence despite their shared political history within the ruling party.

He said he played significant roles during the formation and electoral success of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including serving as deputy director-general of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign.

Oshiomhole alleged that several senators were dissatisfied with Akpabio’s leadership approach and suggested that opinions within the upper chamber could influence future political alignments.

The former Edo State governor also claimed that fellow lawmakers were aware of what he described as the Senate President’s disposition toward him, although he did not offer reasons for the alleged tension.

Speaking further, Oshiomhole referenced an alleged discussion involving Senator Abdulaziz Yari over committee leadership positions, presenting it as an indication of underlying disagreements within the Senate.

The comments come against the backdrop of recent tensions within the Senate, including Oshiomhole’s criticism during the ongoing scrutiny of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and debates around internal leadership dynamics in the upper legislative chamber.
