Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (All Progressives Congress) senatorial candidate for Edo North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections after he was returned unopposed in the party’s primary.

The primary election, conducted across the district in Edo State, saw Oshiomhole emerge through affirmation, with the Returning Officer, Mr Kassim Otono, announcing that he secured 24,284 votes.

The former APC National Chairman expressed appreciation to party members and residents of Edo North for the confidence reposed in him, describing the development as an honour.

He said the absence of challengers reflected strong support within the district and thanked constituents for what he described as renewed confidence in his representation.

In his words, “Even when you have other people contesting in other parts of the country and having disputes over who should contest, for me to have nobody challenging me in Edo North is an honour, and I cannot thank the people of Edo North enough.”
