Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has felicitated the Muslim community on the occasion of this year’s Eid el-Fitr, commending the faithful for their fortitude and self-discipline during the period of Ramadan.
Otti stated this in a press statement signed by his chief press secretary, Kazie Uko, which was made available to the media yesterday in Umuahia, the state capital.
“I believe that this year’s Ramadan period, like the previous years, offered you the opportunity to pray for the welfare and well-being of all and leaders of the state,” he said.
While expressing the hope that the period had reignited their faith, he stressed that they should continue to contribute to the socioeconomic and political development of state alongside others.
The governor, thanked them for their support for his administration for the past 10 months, adding that their cooperation and support for his campaign for the office was well noted.
“Our administration will continue to strive towards creating enabling environment for all, irrespective of faith, tribe, ethnicity or political leaning to prosper and move the state forward,” he said.
Otti, who urged them to continue to live in peace with their neighbours, maintained that it is only in an atmosphere of peace and security that the administration would be able to fulfill its promises.
