Owa’s Demise: Markets Closed In Ijesaland For 7 Days

The traditional Prime Minister of Ijesaland, High Chief Adebola Orolugbagbe, Odole Owa of ljesaland, has announced the closure of markets across the domain for seven days following the demise of the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran ll.

Chief Orolugbagbe, who announced this at a press conference in Ilesa, Osun State, on Friday, however said there was no imposition of curfew on any community in Ijesaland, adding that markets shall only remained closed from September 14 to 20, 2024 and reopen on September 21, 2024.

He also announced the closure of the traditional palace at Okemese with immediate effect while all activities therein remained suspended until further notice.

High Chief Adebola Orolugbagbe disclosed further that all traditional transition rites shall continue for 90 davs.

According to him, Ijesaland has lost a rare gem, a father to all and a quintessential traditional ruler of old, who superintended over the entire ljesaland for 42 years between 1982 and 2024.

He noted that under the late Aromolaran II’s reign, ljesaland witnessed peace, unity, harmony and immense developmental projects.

Chief Orolugbagbe urged all sons and daughters of ljesaland to remain peaceful and be in prayers for the family left behind by the monarch and for the entire ljesaland as a whole.
