The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Osun State governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has congratulated Ekiti State governor, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, on his re-election victory, describing the outcome as a clear endorsement of the governor’s performance in office.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Oyebanji winner of the governorship election after he secured the highest number of valid votes and met the constitutional requirements.

According to the electoral umpire, the incumbent governor polled 319,224 votes to defeat his closest rivals, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnering 40,533 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured 12,872 votes.

However, in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists shortly after the declaration of the results, Oyebamiji said the landslide victory recorded by Governor Oyebanji in the election reflected the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State owing to his developmental strides since assuming office.

He also expressed optimism that the APC would replicate its success in Ekiti during the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, insisting that the outcome of the Ekiti poll was a pointer to the party’s expected victory in the state.

Oyebamiji, however, congratulated the people of Ekiti State and members of the APC for what he described as a resounding electoral success.

He expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji would consolidate on his achievements and continue to drive the transformation of the state.

Oyebamiji said, “I warmly congratulate my brother and friend, His Excellency, Abiodun Oyebanji, on his re-election victory.

“The successful poll and the victory of our party are clear testimonies to the wide acceptability of our great party, the unparalleled transformations under the leadership of the governor, and the good works of our President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I celebrate the good people of Ekiti State most sincerely and members of our party on this landslide victory, and I am confident that our hardworking and energetic governor will consolidate on his good works in his avowed determination to take Ekiti to greater heights.”

He maintained that the APC’s victory in Ekiti had further strengthened the party’s resolve ahead of the Osun governorship poll, expressing confidence that the party would emerge victorious in the state.
