Crystal Palace came from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday, October 11, handing former manager Oliver Glasner an unhappy return to Selhurst Park.

Goals from Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma and Yéremy Pino secured the victory for Palace after Dan Ndoye had given Forest an early lead.

The result also earned Palace their first home Premier League win of the season and lifted them above Forest in the league table.

Forest made a bright start and went ahead in the third minute when Ndoye capitalised on a defensive mistake before curling the ball beyond goalkeeper Walter Benítez.

The visitors continued to threaten and came close to extending their advantage, but Benítez produced a series of impressive saves to keep Palace in the contest.

Palace gradually found their rhythm and drew level in the 41st minute through Kamada, who finished from close range after a flowing attacking move involving Quinten Timber.

The hosts completed their turnaround in first-half stoppage time when Lerma rose to meet Adam Wharton’s corner, sending a header towards goal that took a deflection before crossing the line.

Palace went into the interval with a 2-1 advantage despite Forest having created several promising opportunities.

Forest pushed for an equaliser after the restart, with Morgan Gibbs-White coming close as the visitors sought to restore parity.

However, Palace struck again in the 59th minute to take control of the contest.

Jørgen Strand Larsen’s initial effort was saved by Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, but the rebound fell kindly for Pino, who calmly finished to make it 3-1.

Forest struggled to find a way back into the match despite creating further chances, with Benítez continuing his impressive performance in goal.

The goalkeeper denied Liam Delap from close range as Palace defended their advantage to secure all three points.

The victory marked a disappointing return for Glasner, who had previously enjoyed success at Palace before taking charge of Forest.
