The People’s Democratic Party has constituted executive committee in Adamawa state, a 12-man caretaker committee to handle the affairs of the party in the state.
Chairman of the caretaker committee, Engr. Belmont Dogo disclosed the development at a press conference in Yola on Tuesday, stressing that the recent resignation of the former state executive of the party informed the formation of his-led interim committee.
“As you are all aware, following the recent resignation of the State Executive Committee of our party, a vacuum was created in the leadership structure at the state level.
“The National Working Committee of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, in its wisdom and sense of duty, deemed it inappropriate for the Executive offices to remain vacant at such a critical time. Consequently, this Caretaker Committee was constituted.
“The National Caretaker Working Committee of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) pursuant to Article 29(2)(b) has approved the appointment of the following as Caretaker Committee Members for Adamawa State.
“The Committee is charged with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the Party in the State as stipulated in Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution. The tenure of this committee shall be for a period of 30days or until such a time as a new Executive Committee is elected.
“The Committee members are: Engr. Belmont Dogo – Chairman, Yerima Shekarau as Secretary, Musa Kanimare, Aminu Hammadama,Suzan Mark Zira, Jibrila Manga, Mary t. Javan and Salihu W. Buba.
“Other members of the committee were; John Musa,Aminu Hammadama Philip kenan,Paul Mauni as well as Barr. John Tunoh respectively.” He said.
Dogo noted that the newly constituted 12-member Caretaker Committee of the party would have Alhaji Yerima Shekarau to serve as interim Secretary.
“On behalf of my colleagues, I wish to formally express our profound appreciation to the national leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in us. We accept this responsibility with humility, loyalty, and unwavering dedication”. Dogo stated.
