This is even as the group stressed that this represents the figment of imagination of the perpetrators and handiwork of detractors and enemies of the party.

This was made known through a statement by the forum, led by Barr.Uche Alisigwe and made available to newsmen.

He highlighted that the report was ‘a mischievous and disingenuous attempt to undermine Ugochinyere standing within the PDP, hence the general public should ignore and jettison the same.

In an emergency meeting held in Owerri, the forum however recognized Ugochinyere’s leadership potential by nominating him as the State Leader of the PDP.

He said, “This decision comes as part of a broader strategy to reorganize and rebuild the party following a tumultuous period that has seen loss of critical stakeholders and increased factionalism.

“During this emergency session, it was emphasized that Ugochinyere is the highest elected public office holder in Imo State still committed to the PDP and that his leadership will be instrumental in reconciling the party amidst alleged infiltration by loyalists of the rival APC.

“The chairmen expressed their resolve to distant the PDP from transactional politicians who perceive public trust as item of merchandise, having sold their souls to Mammon.

“Having passed vote of implicit confidence on him, we wish to state that Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere remains a bonafide member of our party and will continue to have our support and loyalty until the invaders of our party are shown the way out,” they said.
