Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi East have commended the party’s senatorial aspirant, Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi, popularly known as “Elephant,” for his commitment to youth empowerment and grassroots political development.
The party leaders gave the commendation during a stakeholders’ meeting where Abdullahi was also endorsed as the consensus candidate for the Kogi East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They described the aspirant as a selfless politician whose empowerment programmes and humanitarian interventions had positively impacted many communities across the district.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, the endorsement followed consultations with party leaders, youths, women groups and stakeholders across the nine local government areas of Kogi East.
A party chieftain said Abdullahi had continued to distinguish himself through acts of generosity and dedication to the welfare of the people.
He said, “Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi, popularly known as Elephant, has consistently demonstrated uncommon leadership, generosity and commitment to the welfare of our people.
“His support for youths and his investment in the future of the party are highly commendable.”
The stakeholders particularly praised the aspirant for purchasing nomination forms for 11 State House of Assembly aspirants across Kogi East.
They described the gesture as unprecedented and a strong demonstration of his commitment to encouraging credible young politicians to participate actively in the democratic process.
A youth leader in Ankpa described the intervention as a rare display of political mentorship.
“At a time many politicians focus only on themselves, Elephant invested in the dreams of others by purchasing forms for 11 House of Assembly aspirants. This singular act speaks volumes about the kind of leader he intends to be,” he said.
On his ambition, Abdullahi promised to prioritise youth empowerment, education, agriculture, infrastructural development and economic opportunities if elected into the Senate in 2027.
“My mission is to serve the people of Kogi East with sincerity, transparency and dedication. I want to ensure our youths are empowered, our women are supported, our farmers are encouraged and our communities receive the development they deserve,” he said.
He also pledged to facilitate federal projects, scholarships, skills acquisition programmes and employment opportunities for constituents across the district.
