The Council of Ministers of Sudan’s Peace Government, on Friday, said an unconditional ceasefire was the only way to end civilian suffering in El Obeid.

The statement, signed by Khalid Danaa, Minister of Information and Official Spokesperson of the Peace Government, said; “The most effective and fundamental means of protecting civilians and ending their suffering is the immediate implementation of an unconditional humanitarian ceasefire.”

It added that a ceasefire “would facilitate the protection of civilians, the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the evacuation of the wounded and the sick.”
