Rivers United missed two penalties in the game.

Alex Oyowah scored the first goal of the game in the 89th minute, and he converted a penalty one minute later to make it 2-0.

The first leg of the tie finished 0-0 two weeks ago at the Stade Muncipal Yamoussoukro, Burkina Faso.

Rivers United have now qualified for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup 2-0 on aggregate.

“Congratulations to Rivers United on making it to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage. Best of luck in the competition!,” he wrote.

Recall that Rivers United reached the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederation Cup last season.

Up next for Rivers United is their first Nigeria Premier Football League game of the season against Niger Tornadoes billed for the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Sunday.
