Comrade Tega Samson Oliver, a businessman, philanthropist, and chairman of Excella B Group, has donated a remodelled classroom block to Christ City Global Missionary School in Lugbe.

Christ City Global Missionary School, Lugbe, is a 100 per cent tuition-free school for the poorest of the poor, homeless, returned, and dissident children in society.

The philanthropist remodelled two blocks of more than ten classrooms and equipped them with modern teaching tools, chairs, desks, and computers, among other school needs.

Oliver further said that remodelling the school to a standard level with modern facilities and a playground was a way of giving back to society as he celebrated his birthday.

He said the school was identified and chosen by one of his staff, who urged him to help the school uplift its status as the founder. Carol Shalom was the only one catering for the school.

Oliver further called on other well-to-do Nigerians to look inward and see how they can uplift the suffering of the masses by building, remodelling, or even repairing schools in local areas to return out-of-school children to classrooms.

He said that in the future, he would continue to build or remodel two schools in local areas yearly, noting that he wanted to ensure that Nigerian children could school in a conducive environment.

While appreciating the kind gesture, Shalom, the school’s founder and a retired civil servant, said she founded the school to help take children off the streets.

She said the school is for all, including Christians, Moslems, Hindus, or even those who don’t belong to any religion. The goal is to ensure that the less privileged children can go to school free of charge.

However, she noted that one of the challenges of running the school is funding, as she pays for everything and calls on the government to assist them with teachers or other basic needs.
