PICTORIAL: Massive Crowd, Tight Security As VP Shettima Receives Kano Governor Into APC

A massive crowd of supporters, on Monday, besieged the Sani Abacha Stadium, Sofar Mata, Kano, as Vice President Kashim Shettima officially received Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The event attracted an overwhelming turnout of party loyalists who arrived in various colours of branded shirts and caps, many of which bore the images of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Yusuf and Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin. Some supporters were also seen wearing caps with the Tinubu’s trademark infinity symbol.

Security was visibly tightened within and around the stadium, with personnel from the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies deployed to maintain order.

Major roads leading to the venue were placed under strict surveillance, while vehicular movement was restricted around the stadium. Security operatives were also stationed at key entry points where they conducted searches on attendees to prevent the movement of weapons and other prohibited items into the venue.

Despite the heavy security presence, operatives were observed carrying out their duties in an orderly and professional manner, calmly ushering supporters into the stadium through designated entrances.

Prominent party leaders and stakeholders present at the event included the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin; Minister of State for Housing, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, and former governor Kabiru Gaya.

Others were Senator Kawu Sumaila, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, and Hon. Abba Kabir Bichi.

Guest governors in attendance included Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Nasir Idris of Kebbi State, Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State, Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, and Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State.

However, Governor Yusuf was seen as usual wearing his trademark white attire with a red cap that carries the infinity symbol on it.
