PICTORIAL: Troops Kill Wanted Terrorist Kingpin Halilu Buzu, Fighters In Zamfara

Troops of the Nigerian Army have neutralised Halilu Buzu, a notorious terrorist kingpin on security forces’ wanted list and several of his fighters in Mayanchi village, Maru local government area of Zamfara State.

The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement on its official X handle on Friday.

The statement said Buzu and some of his fighters met their waterloo on Thursday 12 September, 2024 during encounter with troops.

The statement added that troops during the offensive operations laid in ambush at notorious terrorist’s identified crossing point in Mayanchi.

It added that the terrorist kingpin and his fighters, who put up a fierce resistance on encountering the troops, however succumbed to the overwhelming firepower of the valiant troops.

At the end of the fierce encounter, troops recovered 2 Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) guns, 3 PKT guns, 5 AK-47 rifles, 479 rounds of PKT ammunition, 366 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition,182 rounds of Machine Gun1 ammunition, one RPG Bomb, 29 AK-47 magazines, 30 motorcycles, two android phones, and 2 Yeekee phones.

The statement added that troops also destroyed the terrorists’ camp and currently conducting further exploitation in the general engagement area and even beyond.
