The Plateau State Government has relaxed the 48-hour curfew imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following the recent violent attack in Angwan Rukuba.
The government announced the relaxation in view of the relative calm recorded in the area after the deadly incident that claimed 28 persons.
According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon Joyce Ramnap said, “Effective from Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the curfew will now be observed daily from 7am to 3pm.
The statement added that residents are permitted to conduct lawful activities within the stipulated hours.
She urged citizens to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding as security agencies continue to monitor the situation to ensure sustained peace and order
“The Plateau State Government appreciates the cooperation and resilience of the public during this period and reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the state,” the statement added.
