Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba believes the club will reclaim the Premier League title within the next three years, despite their recent struggles to challenge consistently for domestic honours.

The France World Cup winner made the bold prediction while discussing United’s future prospects under manager Michael Carrick.

United finished third in the Premier League last season, behind runners-up Manchester City and champions Arsenal, but Pogba remains convinced the foundations are in place for a return to the summit of English football.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the midfielder expressed confidence that the club’s long wait for a league title will soon come to an end.

“I think Manchester United will win the Premier League in the next few years,” Pogba said. “They are going to be champions.”

The former Juventus star initially suggested a five-year timeframe before revising his prediction to three years.

“If Arsenal can become champions, then Manchester United can definitely become champions as well,” he added. “It’s a big statement, but I believe they will do it.”

Pogba, who enjoyed two spells at Old Trafford, acknowledged that his prediction may appear ambitious given the competitive nature of the Premier League. However, he argued that United’s stature, resources and growing squad quality make a title challenge inevitable.

“No disrespect to anyone,” he said. “I just believe Manchester United will get there.”

United have endured a lengthy wait for Premier League success since Sir Alex Ferguson guided the club to their last league crown in 2013. Since then, they have experienced several managerial changes and fluctuating fortunes while rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have dominated the title race.
