Police Arrest 10 Suspects Over Killing Of Benue MACBAN Chairman

The Benue State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the killing of the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, Ardo Risku Mohammed, and his friend, Yakubu Isah.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, disclosed the development in a statement on Sunday, saying significant progress had been made in the ongoing investigation into the killings.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, said the arrests followed intensive intelligence gathering and tactical operations by the command.

He said the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation carried out by tactical teams in the Otukpo area of the state on the night of June 27, 2026.

The suspects were identified as Titus Tyodenda, 25; Utibe Sam, 20; Owoicho Ameh, 18; Sunday Useni, 21; Sunday Ogbanje, 46; Daniel Raphael, 23; Adokole John, 24; Samuel Ogazi, 32; Agbo Daniel, 25; and Onazi James, 30.

Nwadiogbu commended the command’s tactical teams and investigators for what he described as their swift response and professionalism in carrying out the arrests.

He assured the public that investigations were ongoing and that efforts had been intensified to identify and apprehend other persons connected with the killings.

The police commissioner reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring that everyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

He also appealed to residents to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies and provide useful information that could assist the investigation.

Nwadiogbu added that the Benue State Police Command remained committed to protecting lives and property while sustaining peace and security across the state.
