Police Arrest 15 For Banditry, Arms Deals, Defiling Of Minors

The Niger State Police Command has arrested 15 suspects over various offenses ranging from banditry, kidnapping, arms dealing, car theft, defilement/rape, thuggery and being in possession of illicit drugs.
The commissioner of the police, Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, said information was received on the armed men who invaded a residence at Isana village via Nasko, Magama local government area and kidnapped a man and later demanded ransom.

He said operatives attached to the Crack Squad of the command and Nasko Division arrested Abubakar Hussaini, Buba Mohammed, Mainasara Muhammadu and
Ibrahim Abdullahi, and during interrogation, they confessed the kidnap and collection of a ransom N1.6 million.

Similarly, he said one Rabiu Yusuf (also known as Rabee) was arrested at Tungan-Mallam Market area of Paiko and confessed to series of kidnapping activities, saying he was a member of the Muware camp of bandits terrorising Beji, Maikunkele, Bosso, Gawu-Babangida, Sangeku, Bangi, Gulu, and Lapai areas of the state.

The commissioner said one Salisu Abdullahi was arrested at Tunga-goro, Minna and it was discovered that he was working for a suspected bandit known as Dogo Hamza from Zamfara State.

In another development, Danmamman said the Crack Squad arrested one Abubakar Yakubu of Limawa area of Minna for suspected sexual assault on minor girls between ages 6 and 8 years.
