Police Arrest 2 Kuje Prison Escapees In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police command have arrested one Atiku Ibrahim, 37 years and Adamu Ibrahim, 40 years, identified as inmates who escaped from Kuje correctional facility on June 5, 2022.

The terrorists who struck at the facility had freed over 500 inmates.

The two, who had been on the wanted list were arrested by the command’s operatives attached to a crack squad.

The escaped inmates were arrested for cattle rustling and other nefarious activities.

During interrogation, they confessed to having been in Kuje correctional custody since 2021, following allegations of arms dealing against them.

They also confessed to having escaped into Adamawa state until their arrest.

They stated that they were awaiting trial in a case of arms dealing and unlawful possession of firearms.

The state commissioner of police, CP Afolabi Babatola has directed for immediate handing over of the escapees to the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), Adamawa state for further necessary action.

The arrest was contained in a statement signed by the Command public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
