This was contained in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe state Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, saying the arrest followed numerous reports of vandalisation of electricity power transformers, distribution cables and other important materials.

He said the command arrested one of the notorious vandals who specialised in vandalisation of electricity power distribution transformers and cables in Damaturu and other nearby towns.

“On May 16, 2024, at about 1300hrs, personnel of C Divisional Police headquarters, intercepted one Saminu Garba, aged 23 years, of Maiduguri Borno State but two other syndicate members evaded arrest and fled. The command has begun a swift chase to arrest them soon,” the statement read.

LEADERSHIP Sunday gathered that the two others suspects are Audu Ismail and Abba Mohammed of the same state.
