Police Arrest Lagos Teacher Over Assault Of Toddler In Viral Video

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 45-year-old teacher, Stella Nwadigo, over the alleged assault of a 3-year-old child, Abayomi Michael.

The toddler, a pupil of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu in Lagos was alleged to be physically abused by the suspect in a video that went viral.

Police Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest through a post to his X handle on Wednesday.

“She was arrested today, Wednesday 8th Jan, 2025, immediately after the criminal act. Justice must be served,” Adejobi vowed.

In the same vein, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin also confirmed the arrest of Nwadigo.

“She is currently in our custody for necessary further action,” the Lagos Police image maker wrote to his X on Wednesday.

The abuse generated widespread outrage with calls for stricter accountability measures in schools to prevent such incidents in the future.
