Police Arrest Man For Killing 8-yr Old Cousin

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested a 22-year-old suspect, Muhammed Mustapha for kidnapping and killing his 8-year-old cousin, Muhammed Auwal Khalifa.

The victim – Khalifa hailed from Madina Ward in Mubi North local government area of Adamawa State.

The suspect kidnapped and held the victim in a hidden location from where he demanded a ransom of N2.8 million as precondition to free him.

However, before the ransom could be raised and paid, the suspect intoxicated his victim, and later strangled the young boy until he died.

Detectives attached to the Adamawa State Intelligence Department (SID), later arrested Mustapha following a report by the father of the victim, Harris Muhammed, who doubles as an uncle to the suspect.

The suspect has confessed to committing the crime which he blamed on consumption of an intoxicating substance.

Police Public Relations Office in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the arrest of the suspect to LEADERSHIP in Yola on Monday.
