Police Ban Election Victory Celebration In Kebbi

Kebbi State Police Command has banned all forms of celebrations and rallies by supporters of the winners or losers of the presidential and National Assembly elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

In a statement issued yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital by the command’s police public relations officer, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, he said any deliberate attempt to violate the ban or cause the breakdown of law and order by any person or group of persons would not be tolerated.

The statement further warned members of the general public to desist from any act capable of disrupting peace being enjoyed by the people in the state.

He said the command under its commissioner, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora will remain resolute on the task of ensuring safety of lives and property.
