Police Ban Use Of Bangers In Kebbi

Police in Kebbi  State  have prohibited the use  of all sorts of fireworks or bangers otherwise known  as “knock-out” throughout  the state  during  festive period.

To reiterate this, the police command  has organised  operation show of force in Birnin  Kebbi  metropolis  and  environs with  a view  to  ensuring  peace  in the  state.

At a media  briefing  at the  command’s headquarters  in Birnin  Kebbi yesterday, the state’s police commissioner,  Ahmed  Magaji  Kontagora,  said  they  would  mobilise  to  ensure  24 hour patrol throughout  the  period.

Kontagora  noted  that the  ban on  fireworks  during  festive  periods  had  become  necessary  following  a lot of complaints  of nuisance.

He also warned residents against engaging  in unlawful  activities as measures  have  been  taken  by  the  combined  team  of  security  personnel  to  bring  them  to  book.
