Police Confirm Death Of Man In Abia Hotel

Abia State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed receiving the report of one death and three injured at Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia, the state capital.

The command’s public relations officer, Maureen Chinaka (ASP), stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in the capital, yesterday.

The statement said the director of the hotel along Factory Road, had reported to the police that four military personnel had inflicted various degrees of injuries on four staff of the hotel.

“One of the staff, James Etubi, slumped and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor,” the statement explained.

According to the statement, the body of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the undisclosed hospital.

“Detective have visited the hospital, taken pictures of the deceased, and the body is undergoing autopsy. Discreet investigation is ongoing,” it said.
