Operatives of the Adamawa State police command have killed two kidnappers terrorising some parts of Wuro Ladde, Wuro Alhaji, Maiha and Gombi local government areas.
The command’s spokesperson Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement, said the operation, which was carried out by operatives attached to Crack Squad in partnership with hunters yielded result.
He said the outcome of these successes follow-up on collaborative strategy with the hunters to dislodge criminal hideouts and black spots, designed by the command to check cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others.
“The suspected kidnappers upon sighting our men engaged them in a gun duel, as a result two of them were neutralised, one was arrested while others escaped with bullet wounds.
“Interestingly, two AK 47 rifles with five rounds of live ammunition were recovered. One of the suspects, Usman Umar, 26, was arrested and now assisting the police with useful information that will aid investigation and prosecution,” he said.
