According to a press statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the operation was executed on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at about 9:00am.

The PPRO said the Dutsinma Divisional Police Headquarters had received a distress call reporting a bandits’ attack. Armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons, the bandits had launched an assault on the village, causing panic among residents.

In a swift response, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in collaboration with the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KTSCWC), and local vigilantes, mobilised to the scene.

The security team engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, neutralising seven suspects. The remaining bandits fled with injuries, abandoning the rustled animals.

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, praised the operatives for their bravery, professionalism, and commitment.

He assured the public of the command’s unwavering resolve to safeguard lives and property across the state.

In his statement, CP Musa called on residents to continue supporting security efforts by providing timely and actionable intelligence. “Your cooperation is vital in the ongoing fight against crime and criminality,” he emphasised.
