Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have confirmed the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Chinaza Philip, who was said to be terrorising residents of the territory and neighbouring states.
Chinaza who was arrested on Thursday by the Kaduna State Police Command was handed over to the FCT police yesterday for investigation.

FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said he was a notorious Abuja kidnapper, but was nabbed by police operatives in Kaduna, and is currently in police custody.
Elsewhere in Kwara, operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) foiled an attempt by a kidnapper to abduct school children in Ilorin, the state capital.
Yusuf Ajaka, 37, was apprehended on Thursday at Isale Asa, Opomalu area of Ilorin while allegedly trying to abduct pupils who were returning from school.

State commandant of the NSCDC, Umar Mohammed, confirmed the arrest at a press briefing in Ilorin.
“The suspect who claimed that he saw the victims on their way back from school and asked them to help him get dry fish was proved wrong by a discreet investigation which revealed that he forcibly changed the direction of the children from their normal route home in an attempt to kidnap them,” he said.

Mohammed also disclosed that two suspects, Susan Oyewole, and Anafi Isiaka were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly printing fake expiry dates on expired Vita energy drink products and selling same to the unsuspecting consumers.
